Emergency cash when you need it, from the owner you already rent from
A flat tire, a phone bill, a slow week on the apps - sometimes you need a little cash before your next payout. If you rent your car through GigsCar and keep your payments on time, you can ask your fleet owner for an emergency loan of up to $400, right from your renter account. Repayment is split into small daily amounts added to the rental bill you're already paying, so there's no separate lender, no new app and no lump sum due all at once.
How it works
- 1
Check what you qualify for
Open My Rental in your renter account. If loans are turned on for your rental, you see the most you can borrow today.
- 2
Pick an amount and a plan
Choose how much you need, then a 14-day or 28-day repayment plan. You see the exact total before you send the request.
- 3
Your owner approves
Your fleet owner reviews the request and approves or declines it. Once it is approved, they hand you the cash directly.
- 4
Repay a little each day
The repayment is added to your rental balance one day at a time and paid along with your rent through the same secure checkout.
Two simple, fixed plans
There are no hidden fees and nothing to negotiate. Every GigsCar emergency loan uses one of two flat-rate plans, and the cost is fixed the day you request it. It never grows over time.
| Plan | Flat cost | Repaid over | Example: borrow $200 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Short | 10% of the amount | 14 days | Repay $220, about $15.71 a day |
| Long | 12.5% of the amount | 28 days | Repay $225, about $8.04 a day |
Who can borrow, and how much
Emergency loans reward renters with a good track record. What counts is how you've paid your rent, not your credit score.
- You have an active rental with a fleet owner who offers loans.
- You have rented from that owner for at least one month.
- You can borrow $100 for every month you have rented, up to $400.
- Your payment history on that rental is clean, with no late fees.
- You have no other loan request waiting and no unpaid loan balance on that rental.
Why borrow from your fleet owner?
- The person lending to you already knows you and how you pay. You don't have to explain yourself to a stranger.
- Repayment rides on the rental bill you already pay, so there's no second due date to keep track of.
- Small daily amounts fit how gig drivers actually earn: a little every day, not one big paycheck.
- Every day of repayment shows up itemized in your payment history, so you always know what is left.
Borrow responsibly
Only borrow what you can repay on schedule. Loan repayments become part of your rental balance, so missing them counts the same as missing rent: late fees apply, and the car can be remotely disabled until the balance is paid. You have to read and confirm these terms before you can send a request.
For fleet owners: keep your best drivers on the road
Your most reliable renters sometimes hit a rough week. Offering a small, capped advance keeps them driving instead of returning the car, and GigsCar does the bookkeeping for you.
- Only renters with at least a month of history and a clean payment record can ask.
- Amounts are capped at $100 per month of history, $400 at most, so your exposure stays small.
- You approve or decline every request. Nothing is lent automatically.
- Repayments are added to the rental balance and collected through your normal GigsCar checkout.
- Turn loans on or off for each rental.
Frequently asked questions
How much can I borrow?
You can borrow $100 for every month you have rented from your current fleet owner, up to $400. You need at least one month of rental history, and a partial month of 15 days or more counts as a full month.
Do you check my credit?
No. Whether you can borrow depends on how you have paid your rent with your fleet owner: how long you have rented, and whether your payments have been on time.
How much does it cost?
You pay a flat 10% of the amount for a 14-day plan, or a flat 12.5% for a 28-day plan. For example, if you borrow $200 on the 14-day plan, you repay $220 in total. The cost does not grow over time.
How do I repay the loan?
Repayment is split evenly over your plan and added to your rental balance one day at a time. You pay it with your rent through the same secure online checkout, by card.
Who actually lends the money?
Your fleet owner does. GigsCar lets you send the request and tracks the repayment on your rental bill. Once your owner approves, they give you the cash directly.
What happens if I miss a repayment?
Loan repayments are part of your rental balance, so a missed repayment is treated like missed rent. Late fees apply, and the car can be remotely disabled until the balance is paid. Only borrow what you're sure you can repay on time.
Why can’t I see the loan option?
Your fleet owner may not offer loans, or you may not qualify yet: you need a month of rental history, no late fees, and no other loan request or unpaid loan on the rental. If you can't borrow yet, your renter account tells you why.
